Welcome to Reaction Engineering Laboratory

We work in the area of Reaction Engineering and Heterogeneous Catalysis, with particular emphasis on the catalyst and process development of thermo-catalytic reactions. The research focuses on probing fundamental catalytic phenomena, reaction mechanisms, kinetics, and modeling of well-defined catalysts for energy and environmental applications. The research topics primarily align with the net-zero CO2 emission target. CO2 conversion and utilization projects, including CO2 reforming, Autothermal reforming, Partial oxidation, Flue gas reforming, and CO2 hydrogenation to Methanol or Synthetic Natural Gas (SNG). Value-added synthesis is also envisaged with direct CO2-FT, Reverse Water Gas Shift (RWGS), and Methanol to Dimethyl ether (DME) process. We are also interested in exploring the chemistry involved in the conversion of biomass platform molecules to sustainable aviation fuel and fuel additive synthesis. Modeling and simulation are also areas of interest, including thermodynamic, kinetic, and microkinetic studies for various thermo-catalytic reactions.
