About Me
Our group research activities are highlighted on synthesis of biocompatible and biodegradable polymers particularly from renewable resources. These value added polymers find potential applications in health care. We design biocompatible biodegradable monomers, biocompatible catalyst and synthesize the corresponding drug conjugated polymers. We prepare drug nanoparticles to combat cancer and fabricate nanofiber for post operational patches. Various characterizations techniques such as Environmental Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), and Wide angle X-ray Diffraction (WXRD), Solid State 13C CP/MAS NMR etc. are used. We carry out In-vitro and In-vivo studies. The area of research expertise in the group include monomers, biocompatible catalyst and the corresponding drug conjugated tailor-made polymer design, synthesis, structural characterization using spectral techniques such as UV,FTIR, NMR, acute cytotoxicity study, preparation of nanoparticles, fabrication of nanofibers and their animal studies etc.
