Professional Experience

  • 2003-till date: Senior Scientist in the Polymer Sci. & Engr. Division of CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India. Currently working in the field of polymer processing and rheology of complex fluids. Actively involved in material development for PEM based fuel-cell technology program of national importance in CSIR. Additionally, performing the role of a Co-Project Leader for a Rs. 6 Crore (USD 1 MM or GBP 600K or Euro 800K) Center of Excellence (CoE) named SPIRIT funded by Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India.
  • 2000-2003: Senior Research Engineer at The Dow Chemical Company, USA; worked in new business development for specialty polymer foams and films – particularly in processing and rheology related activities.
  • 1998-2000: Graduate Research Assistant at Clemson University, USA leading to an MS in Materials Science & Engineering. Research involved processing of films and laminates from novel protein bio-polymers.
  • 1996-1997: Project Assistant at National Chemical Laboratory, India; worked on physico-mechanical and rheological characterization of polymers and composites. Involved in pultrusion activities for composite product development.
