About Me

Dr. Samanta obtained his B.Sc. from Vidyasagar University and M.Sc. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. He received Ph.D. degree from the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität (WWU) Münster, Germany under supervision of Prof. Armido Studer. After completing his first postdoctoral stay with Prof. Hisashi Yamamoto at the Chubu University, Japan, as a JSPS fellow, he moved to the group of Prof. Lutz Ackermann as Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) fellow at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Germany. In February 2022, he joined the Organic Chemistry Division at the CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory as a DST Inspire faculty, and in July 2022, he was appointed as Senior Scientist (Ad-hoc). His research interests lie in method development for sustainable organic synthesis and application to value-added compounds.
