About Me

Dr. Samanta obtained his B.Sc. from Vidyasagar University and M.Sc. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur. He received Ph.D. degree from the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität (WWU) Münster, Germany under supervision of Prof. Armido Studer. After completing his first postdoctoral stay with Prof. Hisashi Yamamoto at the Chubu University, Japan, as a JSPS fellow, he moved to the group of Prof. Lutz Ackermann as Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) fellow at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Germany. He served as Senior Scientist (Ad-hoc) and DST Inspire faculty from February 2022 to December 2023 before joining as Senior Scientist in the same division. His research interests lie in method development for sustainable organic synthesis and application to value-added compounds.
