About Me

I am presently working as Ramanujan fellow at National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India and my area of research are in synthetic biology and structural biology.  I am interested in lipid signaling pathways and membrane protein translocation pathways. I have received a BS in Agricultural Sciences and a PhD in Biotechnology from the National Chemical Laboratory. My doctoral work involved the structural and biochemical investigations of enzymes involved in antibiotic resistance. In my post-doctoral, I have worked in membrane proteins, more specifically on the structural and biochemical characterization of the Twin-arginine translocation (Tat) pathway. I have determined the receptor component –TatC of this pathway and proposed the model for signal peptide binding.
