About Me

We work in heterogeneous as well as homogeneous catalysis with main emphasis on preparation of new catalytic materials and their applications for various organic transformastions like oxidation and acid catalysed reactions. We are also working on some industrially imporatant reactions like contineous dehydration of lactic acid to acrylic acid, glycerol valorisation and hydrogenation of various edible and nonedible oils like castor oil. Our group also works on environmental catalysis mainly for removal of NOx from lean burn engines for automobile applications, and speration and photocatalytic degradation of colored contaminants from aqueous effluents. In situ FTIR studies for mechanistic aspects of various heterogeneous catalytic systems including deNOx is also a part of our research activity.
