Entreprenuership:
Founder of Rechargion Energy Pvt. Ltd, Pune (Home | Rechargion):
Our research has led to the establishment of a spin-off focused on translation of advanced sodium-ion battery cell technology. Through this spin-off, Rechargion Energy, laboratory-developed sodium-ion coin cell technology has been successfully scaled into a viable large format product of 5 to 20Ah pouch cells. The developed cells have been validated by ARAI as per IEC 62660 / IS 16893 standards, establishing compliance with internationally and nationally recognized battery testing protocols. Rechargion is currently the only company in India with sodium-ion cells validated to these standards by a regulatory agency, representing a significant milestone in indigenous battery technology development. Rechargion is now doing field deployments in the form of paid pilots in association with agencies like Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). Company has been funded by government departments and organizations like Ministry of Heavy Industries, DST, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United-States India Science Technology Endowment Fund (USISTEF), Social Alpha, Cummins etc and supported by Venture Centre, ARAI-AMTIF.
