About Me

I had received my Ph.D. (Sc.) degree from Jadavpur University in 1989 on mechanistic studies on inorganic redox reactions. After that I worked as postdoctoral researcher in the research group of Prof. Jon A. McCleverty at Birmingham University (1989-1990) and Bristol University (1991-1992) on synthesis of redox active polynuclear inorganic metal complexes, which has relevant to the broader area of molecular electronics. Then I joined CSIR-CSMCRI to pursue my professional research career and continued to work there till March 31, 2013. Meanwhile I was elected as the fellow of Indian Academy of Sciences (Bangalore) in 2010 and The National Academy of Science in 2012. Very recently, I have moved to the Organic Chemistry Division of the CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory to pursue my future research.  My research interests include synthesis of purpose-built molecules, molecular recognition, supramolecular chemistry and assembly, and interfacial electron transfer.
