PhD : Positions Available. Highly motivated and talented students interested in physical/ biophysical chemistry/ spectroscopy are encouraged to apply. Candidates with strong interests in expanding their skill sets to interdisciplinary studies will be highly preferred.

Admission requirement: Masters degree AND a valid research fellowship offer (JRF/SRF) from UGC/ CSIR/ DBT/ ICMR/ BINC/ INSPIRE. To know more about the application process click here.

Project Assistants:  We are always looking (provided funds are available) for highly motivated students interested in applications of spectroscopy in the fields of chemistry and biology. Students with Physical Chemistry background with some prior research experience in spectroscopy will be preferred.

Expected Student Outcomes:

Students in our group are exposed to cutting edge exciting laser based spectroscopic techniques as well as the application of theory to understand the experimental results. There will be ample opportunity to work on ultrafast laser techniques and learn how such experiments can be applied to understand intrinsic questions in Physical/ Biophysical/Organic Chemistry and Biology. Expertise will also be obtained in conventional spectroscopic techniques (like FT-IR, UV/VIS, Fluorescence, NMR) and chemical characterization methods (HPLC, Mass Spectrometry, FPLC, GC). Students will have some hands on experience in chemical systhesis and molecular biology. Hands on exposure to molecular dynamics simulations and DFT calculations to compare the experimental data and understand the molecular processes at the atomistic levels will be obtained.
