Our research focuses on the design of tailor-made monomers and polymers for targeted applications. For instance, we develop (meth)acrylic monomers incorporating dynamic covalent bonds , such as imine and disulfide linkages, which impart reconfigurability and recyclability to crosslinked 3D printed networks. By introducing these dynamic chemistries into conventionally irreversible thermoset systems and integrating them with carbon fibre-reinforced Type IV hydrogen storage tanks, recyclable epoxy matrices can be created that preserve the structural integrity and mechanical performance of the composite while enabling efficient recovery and reuse of the embedded carbon fibres.
