My research interests encompass carbon capture utilizing polymeric membranes and the advancement of novel amine carriers to facilitate CO2 separation. We prioritize Thin Film Composite (TFC) membranes and asymmetric membranes, crafted from synthetic and bio-polymers, blended with nano fillers to enhance performance and long-term stability in practical settings. Transport studies are conducted to evaluate membrane performance under realistic conditions, contributing to our comprehensive understanding of membrane technology. Our focus lies in CO2 separation from CO2/N2 and CO2/H2 gas mixtures at elevated temperatures, with additional attention directed towards membrane development for high-temperature fuel cells. To achieve commercial viability, we concentrate on membrane and module production, including spiral wound and hollow fiber module. We possess the infrastructure for pilot-scale support casting and membrane coating for both flat sheet and hollow fiber membranes. Concurrently, we are engaged in a collaborative project aimed at fabricating a new membrane skid for field-testing, involving the construction of scrubbers and humidifiers.
